Growing up with a darkroom in his basement sparked Ori’s love of photography. After graduating from Denison, Ori founded Loose Films, a boutique production house in Columbus Ohio.
Through the emergence and evolution of the brainchild, Loose Films, Ori has orchestrated creative efforts for such companies as Microsoft, Major League Gaming and The Wexner Center for the Arts. Under Ori’s creative direction Loose Films has become the leading content producer for the globally heralded video game, Gears of War.
Ori has Directed content all over the United States and internationally including Vegas, New Orleans, Paris, Israel and Mexico. Ori’s talents span across many mediums of story telling; his documentary Down & Dirty following the band New Thousand, takes a nosedive into the raw lifestyle of busking in New Orleans. The film has screened across the country, winning the Audience Choice award at the UNO Film festival. His music video White Moon for Sarob. took home an Addy award for best music video at the Columbus Ad Agency Award Ceremony. In collaboration with his old professor Marc Wiskemann, Ori animated the award winning stop motion animation Leaves of Fall.
Although his shots are often plotted meticulously and with careful precision, Ori knows that being adaptable is the crux of what he likes to call “filmmaking magic.” He takes this approach to all his creative endeavors, and always works with a strong team of creative collaborators. Film is a team sport and it’s about crafting the perfect balance of creative energies for each project.
